There isn’t one right way to enjoy Ponder.

Inspired by the land and Ponder’s “summer retreat soul,” our amenities create places to gather, move, explore, unwind and spend a little more time outside. Whether you’re meeting friends at Ponder House, heading out on the lake, exploring a trail or finding your favorite neighborhood park, there are plenty of ways to make the most of life here. Make It Yours.

Explore a little. Stay awhile. Make some memories. Start your morning on a trail. Fit in a workout at Ponder House. Spend the afternoon by the pool. Paddle the lake. Meet friends for an event on the lawn. Or find a quiet place outside and do absolutely nothing.

Ponder House

Your Community Living Room

Sitting on more than five acres overlooking Ponder Lake, Ponder House is the signature gathering place for the community — a place designed to feel just as comfortable for a quiet morning as it does for a neighborhood celebration.

The 5,300-square-foot Ponder House brings the outdoors in with floor-to-ceiling windows, beautiful lake views and an approximately 1,900-square-foot covered wraparound porch.

Inside, residents can find spaces to meet a neighbor, grab a coffee, settle in with a book, work remotely or gather with friends and family. A reservable gathering room offers space for private celebrations and events, while the 24/7 fitness studio makes it easy to fit movement into your day.

And outside? There’s even more to explore.

Ponder Lake

Life Is Better by the Water.

Ponder’s namesake lake has been part of this land for generations. Today, it remains at the heart of the community and offers residents a place to experience the water at whatever pace feels right. Launch a kayak or paddleboard. Head out in a canoe. Sit along the dock with your toes near the water. Find a quiet spot with a book. Or simply stop long enough to enjoy the view. Ponder Lake isn’t meant to simply be something beautiful to look at. It’s a place to experience, enjoy and make part of everyday life in Ponder.

This is lake-inspired living, Ponder style.

Wander. Play. Explore.

Nature isn’t an afterthought at Ponder — it’s part of the plan.

Nearly 120 acres, approximately one-quarter of Ponder, are planned as preserved open space, complemented by neighborhood parks, playgrounds, gathering spaces and miles of trails.

Find Your Kind of Fun.

One of the best things about life at Ponder is that there’s always another place to explore or experience waiting just outside your door.

Designed for kids — and kids at heart — Turtle Park features Ponder’s distinctive turtle play structure along with a grassy field and seating area. It’s a place for climbing, running, playing and meeting up with neighborhood friends.

Up to four miles of trails are planned throughout Ponder, including approximately 2.5 miles of public greenway that will become part of the Town of Wendell’s greenway system. Whether you’re walking, jogging or simply wandering, the trails offer another way to experience the natural beauty surrounding the community.

Four-legged residents need room to play, too. Ponder’s fenced, leash-free dog park offers plenty of space to run, play and make a few neighborhood friends of their own.

Bring a blanket, find a spot on the lawn and enjoy the show. With its own stage area, the concert and event lawn creates a dedicated place for live music, entertainment and community gatherings.

Adventure doesn’t have to require a road trip. Trex decking campsites and charcoal grills near Ponder Lake make it possible to spend the night under the stars while still being close enough to home to retrieve the one thing you inevitably forgot. Just BYOT — bring your own tent.

A heritage oak becomes something even more special at The Canopy, where lighting and seating create a memorable gathering spot near Ponder’s fishing pond.

From dropping a line at the fishing pond to simply enjoying the natural beauty of the Little River, Ponder offers even more ways to slow down, get outside and reconnect with nature.

Swim. Play a match. Meet up for yoga. Spend an afternoon outside with friends. Ponder’s recreational spaces give residents plenty of options for being active — or simply being together.
